Mark Stoltz was born in Detroit, Michigan but moved to Slidell, Louisiana
when still in high school. It was during these years that he learned about the
culture that makes New Orleans what it is. After moving to the French Quarter, he was able to experience the city first hand, being surrounded by some of the most influential musicians in the world. It's no wonder where Mark's passion was seeded from after talking to him about Louisiana and his travels over the years. After
attending college at LSU, he made his way back to Detroit, eventually
planting his roots in the woods of Northern Michigan. It wasn't the same,
though, and even with a fill of folk music and plenty of things to do- he craved
the sounds of Louisiana. He started checking out the music he remembered
by buying CD's and catching up with old friends. Over the course
of the last 20 years, Mark has attended hundreds of festivals to fill his love for music and dancing. Especially the cajun and zydeco.
And he's just getting started....
In recent years, Mark has actually elevated his responsibility to the music and the spreading of this contagious energy. From playing in a cajun band, to teaching dance classes, to hosting a zydeco radio show. Mark's goal is to continue spreading the enthusiasm that makes the Music what it is, cajun and zydeco alike. And he hopes to see you on the dance floor by the time it's all said and done......
